Work From (At) Home

March 20,2020 marks the beginning of my quarantine life.

Now this is something we never expected to happen to us and on that account, we were totally unprepared for what was to come. The current situation is grave. But all we need to do to save lives is STAY AT HOME.

Although this might seem easy at first, it definitely is not. Humans, primarily being social animals, are having great difficulties maintaining their sanity in this Lock-down Period.

I, for one, am the living evidence. Albeit I have the opportunity to work from home (which takes up most of my time), I too, have moments where I crave the 'Outside'.

To curb these cravings and to keep busy, I did a few things that I am really proud of (including washing dishes, sweeping and mopping the floor, hanging the clothes for drying and the rest...😏). I would like to share these with you and may be you can share a few with me; because frankly, I am now running out of ideas 😜

  • Lots and lots of cooking :
I have always been inclined towards the culinary world (if you count watching Masterchef Australia). The quarantine life has presented itself with an opportunity for me to actually cook dishes that I never thought could also be cooked at home.

  • Drawing :
When it comes to drawing, my skills are only sub-standard. But I enjoy it and did not get enough time for it since I recently started with my new job.

  • Blogging :
Well, it has been a long time since I wrote my last blog. I really love writing about things I am passionate about and simply could not find a topic. At present, getting rid of the novel Corona Virus is a topic I am really passionate about 😂.

  • Updating my travel page :
Promotion alert!! To those of who do not know, I have an Instragram and Facebook page of my travel photos. I had been lazy and had not updated the page since a long time. I now have elbow room to do just that and have uploaded a few new pictures. So....go follow https://instagram.com/__global.citizen__?igshid=yi6x1kvwhpgg  on Instagram 😀

  • Quality time with family :
A silver lining to this dark, grey cloud is that you are stuck with your family. Given our different daily routines, my parents and I could hardly eat one meal together. Presently, we have the possibility to cook AND eat all 3 meals of the day together. On top of that, we get to spend our leisure time together (which, I am pretty sure, I would have spent it with my friends). We enjoy playing cards, carrom, and even dancing together (God Bless Youtubers).

  • Going back in Time :
When my sister and I were in school, we all used to sing the Strotras of RamRaksha and Bhimrupi in the evening. We have resumed this ritual. I am glad we did, because no matter how the day was, when we sit together and recite these hymns, we forget all  our worries and feel at peace!

  • Registering for a course at Coursera :
Registering being the key-word here. Subsequently, I also aim to take up and complete the course.

I aim to do a lot other things and am free to suggestions!

What are you guys doing to keep your calm in this storm? Do let me know in the comments below.

Before I conclude, I would like to say that it is absolutely also OK to not do anything. These are difficult times and everyone has their own coping mechanisms. Do not, at any cost, feel pressurized to do things just because others on your 'Social Media' are doing so. YOU DO YOU!

STAY AT HOME. STAY SAFE. WASH YOUR HANDS!

Thank you for reading my blog!
